How depression can destroy you & make you stronger - Part 3

The mailman walked to the house as her grandpa was tending to the plants. Both the mailman and grandpa had a chat and the mailman left following the delivery. Mel was inside her room reconsidering her choices in life. She stopped talking to almost everyone and began loving darkness. It was as if there was no meaning in her life… It was the lowest point of her life.

Grandpa exclaimed happily and called for Mel. He received a letter from the university. As he knew Mel was upset, he decided to open and read the letter. The letter, addressed to Mel, shared that it was a misjudgment from the university and that she has cleared the exam with flying colors. Action was taken against the person responsible for mishandling her exam papers.

Mel was shocked and couldn't believe her eyes and ears. She asked grandma to pinch her to make sure that she was not dreaming. Indeed, it was not a dream but a reality. Mel asked her grandparents to not share the news and be  too excited with anyone as she needed nothing to do with her relatives. She decided to cut them off from her life in her mind and act as if nothing happened in front of them.

All the relatives (never even bothered to apologize) congratulated for her success. She decided to prove to others that she could succeed in life. She decided to work harder and gain a degree in teaching as well as to go ahead and complete her post graduation. She also worked in reputed companies and continues to work and earn money so that she remains happy. Still  most relatives demand and tell her to make decisions and try to interfere in her life but she just brushes them off. It's her life and she knows what to decide and how to live her life as she lives it and not the others.
