Jacob broke down and told about how he lost his parents and home and how he wandered around in search of a job, food and shelter. Mr. Goodman felt pity for him and offered him a job in his bakery. He asked if Jacob was educated or not. He just replied that he was in high-school when the tragedy struck. Even Though they were poor, the community school offered meals and education for free which helped Jacob learn until high school.
As time passed, Jacob sincerely worked for Mr. Goodman and never asked for any type of increment. By the end of every month, Mr. Goodman gave him some money. He lived with Mr. Goodman who was a bachelor. They lived in a small house just behind the bakery.
