Pam also told her parents that she is cutting them off from her life and no one is allowed to meet her children or husband for anything. Paul's parents were shocked and asked him to apologize to her. However, they soon understood where they went wrong with Pam and why she behaved in such a manner.
Pam was never told “no” for anything. If she wanted a toy, she would cry and make tantrums until she got it. She had many tricks up her sleeve. Her parents used to give her pocket money even after her marriage as she used to demand money from them every month.
Pam had quit working as soon as she got married. She loved to spend the money her husband made on shopping for clothes, cosmetics and for beauty treatments. Pam grew jealous of how her brother succeeded in his life and began demanding money from him telling that it was her right to get money from her younger brother as she looked after him during childhood when their parents were at work.
Pam even told her family that she was considering a divorce as her husband doesn't make anything when compared to Paul. Her parents were strictly against it. This made Pam more angry and agitated. That's when she told everyone that she would cut her father, mother and brother off from her life.
Paul ignored all of the drama and focused on his company. He knew how important hard work was to succeed and make money. Money could provide temporary happiness but love and relationships are forever. If we lose some money, we could work hard and earn it but if we lose a loved one, we won't get them back.
Pam was more materialistic and money centered while Paul found his family and happiness more important than the money he earned.
