Mel was invested and focused on her studies She was among the top three students in her class She had opted for her favorite stream, English literature and origin of modern language. She was excited to meet her new friends and was looking forward to learning a lot from her mentors. As she was a day scholar, she used to commute everyday from her rented home where she used to stay with other roommates. She also had taken up a part time job so that she could pay for her rent and university needs. Besides, her grandpa used to wire her little money every month in case she needed the extra money. Mel was very close to her grandpa as both grandparents took care of Mel since she lost her parents.

The classes were smooth and years passed. It was time for Mel to graduate. She was prepared and was ready to clear all the exams with flying colors. However, one of the exams was postponed due to an incident at the university. The rescheduled dates were announced. However, Mel and her friends were glad that they got some more time to prepare for the exam. They attended the last exam and happily walked out of the exam center. 

Soon, Mel and her friends were partying. Mel decided that she would take up some freelancing work along with her part time job so that she could look up the post graduation courses and enroll. The results of the graduation had come. Mel was excited but the color of her face drained out as she opened her results on her laptop.

Jacob grew up in a torn down house with his parents. He lost his house and parents in a flash flood that jolted the entire nation. He was just 15 years old when such a shocking incident left him devastated.  He roamed around in the nearby town in search of a job, food and shelter.
