Dave's Dream - Part 1

Dave had a passion for cooking since his childhood. He used to observe his mom's cooking and baking. However, his father was strictly of the opinion that cooking is meant for women and men should focus their attention and energy on other tasks. Dave told his mother how he was interested in cooking and wanted to try out various dishes she used to make. His mom warned about how his father hated all that but allowed Dave to cook. Gradually, Dave learned to cook various dishes including sweets, pastries, cakes, pie and so on. 

Dave's dad wanted Dave to be a successful engineer who focused on building homes and office spaces. Dave told his dad about his ambition and passion to become a chef and run his own restaurant but his father was furious and warned Dave never to even dream of the same. 

Dave was heartbroken but his mother spoke out in support of Dave. However, his father was so angry that he began to abuse and hit Dave's mother and screamed to keep her opinion to herself. Dave got so angry and knew that his father was toxic in his actions. 

Dave thus came up with a decision and told his mom that he would focus on becoming an engineer first to satisfy his father's wishes and later go on to pursue a course in hotel management. Dave's second preference in life, however, was ro become an engineer as he loved constructing buildings and used to explore various buildings under construction where his father used to work. 

Dave shared the news that he got selected for pursuing an engineering degree in a famous college and his dad was more proud than ever. He was so happy that he told Dave that he would entirely pay for his college and other expenses so that he could solely focus on his studies. 

Dave was happy and decided to save up the money his father used to send for his daily expenses. In a span of few years, Dave graduated with flying colors and his parents were very glad to attend the graduation ceremony.

Jacob grew up in a torn down house with his parents. He lost his house and parents in a flash flood that jolted the entire nation. He was just 15 years old when such a shocking incident left him devastated.  He roamed around in the nearby town in search of a job, food and shelter.
