Beauty of Childhood - Part 1

Sharon and Andrew were neighbors and good friends since childhood. Their parents used to spend time with each other most of the day as it was a close-knit community and various activities were held within the community. 

Even though Sharon and Andrew used to play with other kids in the neighborhood, they used to be closer and even shared many secrets about each other.  One day Andrew saw Sharon crying outside her house. Andrew was curious to know what had happened and asked Sharon why she was crying. However, Sharon was reluctant to share the reason. In an hour or so, Sharon's mother visited Andrew's mother and requested to care for Sharon as she was going out of town for some work purpose. Sharon's mother seemed very weak and had bruises on her hands and face. Andrew's mother enquired if she was alright. Sharon's mom reluctantly told that she was fine and rushed off towards the road. 

Andrew's mother found Sharon to be very quiet and wanted to enquire about the reason. Sharon was reluctant but broke her tough exterior when Andrew's mother comforted her and told that all of them were around to support her in case of any difficulty. 

Sharon began crying inconsolably. She spoke out some words but was unclear. Andrew's mother comforted her and asked if it was something relating to her mother. She asked why her mother was bruised badly on her body. Sharon continued crying and said that last night was terrible for her and her mother. Andrew's mother was shocked to hear what Sharon told.

Jacob grew up in a torn down house with his parents. He lost his house and parents in a flash flood that jolted the entire nation. He was just 15 years old when such a shocking incident left him devastated.  He roamed around in the nearby town in search of a job, food and shelter.
