Pillar of Strength - Part 3

Katy knew that there was no solution and nobody would help her out but herself. She decided to take matters into her own hands and spoke to Sam. He was shocked to see Katy speaking to him a lot. Sam needed some time to process whatever was told to him. He responded calmly that he was a man of few words and that he had no issue with her. It's just that he was confused or worried of expressing his love and attraction to Katy as he was never into any relationships. Katy also shared that she was new in relationships and she had no prior experience about anything. She asked if Sam wanted to continue the relationship or not where he looked confused and shocked. 

Sam slowly began warming up to Katy. Katy decided to speak more to Sam and share her feelings. Katy also shared that she was an introvert as well but this silence hurt her a lot. Sam changed a lot over the course of years but the intimacy part still remained distant. As the families began pressuring on both of them for kids, Katy began discussing the matter with Sam. Sam always showed lack of interest to speak when it came to intimacy, sex, kids or related topics. 

Initially, this used to hurt Katy a lot and she managed to survive a life that lacked sexual intimacy and kids. However, she decided to ignore it, even though it was very tough for her. Sam used to support her and stand by her whenever needed. At times, when she felt that she was left alone with no one to care for her or speak to her, Sam comforted her and took her on trips so that they could unwind and relax. 

She had begun to work from home due to certain health issues where Sam supported her totally while her cousins, friends and other family members cruelly commented on the loser she was who has quit office job and earns very little by working from home. Definitely she had her own reasons for the same and she was least interested in explaining all the details to the so-called friends and  relatives who berated her and couldn't even support her through her toughest of times initially in her marriage. Hence, she decided to ignore all those people with negativity and Sam stood as a strong pillar with her decision. 

There are many more Katys who go through such situations or even more severe ones. However, some Sams stand as a strong pillar in their partner's life even though they are not perfect while some others strive their best to keep only themselves happy and content thereby ignoring others and their feelings.

How adopting a poor boy turned out to be a blessing! - Part 1

Jacob grew up in a torn down house with his parents. He lost his house and parents in a flash flood that jolted the entire nation. He was just 15 years old when such a shocking incident left him devastated.  He roamed around in the nearby town in search of a job, food and shelter.
