How families get in trouble - Part 3

The next morning came by and most people were surprised at how humble and generous both Jon and his wife were. All of them requested Jon to provide them with a home tour as well as tour of the gated community they were living in. Jon agreed and was followed by a brief tour of the house which blew the heads of most members. They were awestruck by the luxury the smart house offered. The community was even more impressive. 

As men spoke about the financial aspects of the holiday home and community, women were interested in knowing more about the dress and jewelry collection of Jane. She gladly gave them a tour and informed them about the security systems installed so that their belongings were safe and secure and only they could access everything whenever necessary. 

One of the cousins has had a history as she has successfully stolen a few dresses and jewelry from other cousins. It was a huge issue back then and was resolved when the stolen items were returned as they were threatened with a police case of not being returned if they failed to do so. 

However, the celebrations and events went on smoothly. Even the “show-off” cousin felt that she had nothing to show off which was depressive for her. However, she tried to break into the locker she found in one of the rooms at Jon's holiday home, expecting to find money or jewelry. She was unable to do anything as the alarm began beeping and notifying Jon, Jane and the caretakers who stayed within the community. They immediately reached the scene and asked what had happened. Jon and Jane rushed to the scene. Even Though the cousin tried to lie her way out, she knew that she was trapped. She admitted her intentions that her plan was to get her hands on whatever she could grab from the place, sell it and earn cash so that she could go for vacation with the amount. 

Her parents became furious and they told her to make money by getting a job rather than sitting at home and mooching off of them. Jon and Jane thanked the caretakers who promptly rushed to the spot. The caretakers asked Jon if he was planning to press charges and they could help in reaching out to the cops. Jon politely told them that they would think over it and get back to them. 

The “show-off” cousin was apologetic and embarrassed to be there. Her parents were apologetic too. They requested Jon and Jane not to press any charges and that they would leave the premises immediately if Jon and Jane wanted them out of the house. 

Even Though Jon and Jane said that it was fine, they left within an hour. The remaining family left as evening rolled out and went back to their own busy lives.

Jacob grew up in a torn down house with his parents. He lost his house and parents in a flash flood that jolted the entire nation. He was just 15 years old when such a shocking incident left him devastated.  He roamed around in the nearby town in search of a job, food and shelter.
