Every job has its own value… Part 2

One day as she was working, a man approached the food truck. He was shabby and looked pathetic. She felt bad and offered some free food when she saw the man looking at her. As she looked at him longer, realization drew upon her and she became pale…..

It was none other than her ex husband. Besides him was a well-dressed woman who looked way older than him. She exclaimed, "We don't need your free food. We are here to order your best sellers." The woman looked like she was rich and clearly had no intentions to ask the guy besides her on what he preferred to eat.

Mary fulfilled their orders and the woman even gave a generous amount rather than the usual cost of food. She ate the food and liked it so much. The man, still in shock, tried to avoid looking at Mary. By seeing Mary shook, her daughter enquired if she was fine. However, Mary shared that she had never been better!

That night, Mary remembered how her now ex-husband used to torture her physically and verbally. He used to speak abuses to her and used to hit her if he disliked the food. He always used to compare the food with the food his mother made, demeaning the former. Once, he even threw out the dinner that was freshly cooked. Mary used to feel so depressed that she even thought of ending her life. However, the guy left the house one day by placing signed divorce papers on the table along with a letter. The letter had told Mary to get a divorce so that he could live happily with the one he loved. He had also mentioned how horrible and ugly Mary was and that he knew many beauties who would wait for him to marry them.

Mary was in fact received by then but had to move to a rented house as the house she stayed belonged to her husband. She applied for divorce and was successful in gaining it.

By seeing the condition of her ex-husband who was now completely controlled by some woman, she never felt an element of guilt. She felt pity for the poor man but once she realized that it was her ex, all the guilt and pity feeling were gone!
