Why is prayer important?

Everyone knows the importance of prayer and how it could have a positive impact on our lives. While some people are free to not believe in God, most people believe and worship God by offering prayers and wishing well for others.

Mary was a firm believer of God and used to pray regularly. She never used to miss out on any opportunity she had to visit the chapel nearby her house. At the same time, her sister, Mimi hated praying and never believed in God. All she was interested in doing was to party with friends day and night. She also hated working and earning money and always used to demand for money from Mary who used to work and earn money.

Mary owned a grocery shop and had tie-ups with various farmers. She also had a field and used to cultivate various crops, fruits and vegetables according to different seasons. Both farmers and Mary were happy that the business was going well. People around the town knew that Mary always sold  fresh fruits and vegetables and shopped from her store.

Mimi hated that Mary was self-sufficient and wished to sell the grocery shop and take all the money so that she could party more and more with a lot of money.

Once Mimi was returning from a party and was drunk. She was driving the car and purposefully crashed into the grocery store so that she could see Mary hurt and sad. Mimi hated Mary and wished to see her sad and shattered so that Mimi would get all the attention from people. She even wanted to put the life of her sister in danger. Mimi purposefully drove into the store as she saw Mary who was closing the store for the night.

Mary luckily escaped unhurt but God had a different plan for Mimi. Mimi was gravely injured in the crash and almost escaped death. She was in a coma for around a month and had broken ribs and legs. Mary was heart-broken on why her sister did such a thing and focused only on her sister's recovery rather than her store. The farmers who sold vegetables and fruits to Mary realized her pain and helped her rebuild the store. Even Though Mary used to go to store to earn money and help out farmers to sell their produce, her mind was only focused on her sister's recovery.

Mimi recovered from the coma and realized what a huge mistake she had made. When she heard about the people around her talking about how sleepless and tired Mary was stressing about Mimi, she understood how Mary loved her even after she only gave trouble and caused harm to her.

When Mimi saw Mary, she started crying and apologized for all her mistakes. Mimi also started believing in miracles and believed in God. She realized how God has saved her life even though she only thought of harming her sister.

Mr. Goodman, a baker who owned a small bakery, used to donate leftover bread to the poor and hungry. However, This time he came across Jacob and curiously asked what such a young gentleman was doing on the streets.  Jacob broke down and told about how he lost his parents and home and how he wandered around in search of a job, food and shelter. Mr. Goodman felt pity for him and offered him a job in his bakery. He asked if Jacob was educated or not. He just replied that he was in high-school when the tragedy struck. Even Though they were poor, the community school offered meals and education for free which helped Jacob learn until high school.  As time passed, Jacob sincerely worked for Mr. Goodma...
