Life is a game - Part 1 - How Ian's life changed for the best?

Ian woke up from his sleep. He could see vehicles lining up on the road and honking. Many people were walking past him and he realized that it was another busy day for people. As he was deeply thinking, clanking a coin into the bowl brought him back to his senses. When he looked above, he saw a little girl, dressed up in school uniform smiling at him. She walked away into the crowd and disappeared. Ian realized everything he saw was a dream and now he is back to the harsh reality he lives in.

Ian was scavenging around trash bins in search of food. He collected some stale bread and an unopened pack of beans with which he was very happy. However, he saw a little girl walking towards the road to pick up a small kitten. Ian sprung into action, grabbed the girl and saved her life from a speeding truck! The kitten's life was also saved. May saw everything and came running towards the little girl. As there was a commotion, Mr. Evans, the girl's dad came rushing out of his house. He saw his child crying and mistook Ian. He started hitting him. "What did you do to my precious child? Why is she crying? I will report you to the cops!" said Mr. Evans. May interrupted and told, " Hey Mister, Don't be so harsh. You are somehow misunderstood. This guy saved the little girl's life. She was in the middle of the street and had not this guy saved her, she would have been crushed by that truck. What a reckless driver he was….."

"Oh, I….I…." Mr Evans choked on his words. "I am so sorry, mister. When I saw you in rags, I …. I thought that you were trying to bring harm to my child…". Ian spoke nothing and began to walk away from the people who were gathered there. However, Mr. Evans stopped him. He asked, "Are you…. Sorry for asking but are you homeless? I can help you out if you are looking for a job…." Ian was shocked and surprised at Mr. Evans. Mr. Evans handed over his contact details. "Please come here tomorrow. I will give you good clothes to wear so that you can visit my office and we can talk about a job for you. Consider it as a thank you gift from my side." Ian's eyes filled with tears. 

As mentioned, he visited the house and later the office. However, Ian had a neatly organized file with him. Mr. Evans saw this. "Thank you again.. Mr. …..?" "Ian, I am Ian". "Yes, Mr. Ian… Now, May I ask what you might have with you? "

Ian handed over the file. Mr. Evans was shocked once he opened the file. He stared at it for some time and then spoke out, "You… you were the CEO of a company??? But how? How did you become homeless?"

Jacob grew up in a torn down house with his parents. He lost his house and parents in a flash flood that jolted the entire nation. He was just 15 years old when such a shocking incident left him devastated.  He roamed around in the nearby town in search of a job, food and shelter.
