Why is effective communication important?

 Communication is very important, may it be communication among family members, children or partners. Communicating the situations clearly plays a very important role in upkeeping the peace in the family. Same is the case when it comes to business or colleagues in the office.

Kristi loved to travel to the office and do her work sincerely. She was happy with the work she was doing and her family was completely supportive of the same. However, one of the colleagues, Katy, hated how happy she was when it comes to both her family life as well as work. 

Katy was an old classmate of Kristi. They were schoolmates and knew each other since childhood. Katy was jealous of Kristi due to her own reasons. Katy was unhappy in her marriage as she always demanded materialistic things which made her rich husband almost broke. She was too lazy to work and she wished to earn money by wasting time in the office. She hated Kristie because Kristie used to work hard and get promoted which in turn gave her a hike in salary. Kristie was also happy with her husband and they used to live comfortably by going on vacations, spending a lot of time with each other etc. Katy hated the fact that Kristie successfully managed to balance her work as well as personal life. 

Katy was thinking of a plan on how to get Kristie fired. One day Jaty found Kristie working hard on something. Katy acted as if she was busy as well and stayed behind at the office when everyone else left the office. Katy found out that Kristie was supposed to make a presentation in front of the clients on the upcoming day. As soon as Kristie left, Katy turned on her computer, deleted the file and left the office space dreaming about how Katy would get fired. 

The next day, Kristie was surprised not to see the file on her system. She had her own suspicions but acted calm. Katy decided to reach the office early that day just to see Kristie in tears and getting fired. Katy was very happy that day. Kristie however went inside and successfully handled the presentation. Katy was shocked to see Kristie not getting fired and she was wondering how Kristie had the presentation with her. 

Kristie was doubtful and spoke about the matter with her boss. The boss decided to check the login information, CCTV footage and concluded with proof that Katy had deleted the file from Kristie's work computer. Katy was fired effective immediately. Katy asked Kristie how they found out about the matter. Kristie thanked her boss for everything.

 Kristie had already informed her boss in the morning immediately when she couldn't find the file in her computer. However, Kristie had mailed the final file for presentation to her boss before she left the office. Thus, there was a backup file and Kristie used the file to continue with the presentation. 

Proper communication that was carried out on time became very helpful. Their boss ended up searching for answers himself. He found Katy guilty of it with evidence and fired her.

The above story tells us how communication is the key to success. Proper and effective communication is very important and could help people understand each other very well and solve any existing issues.
