Testing a dogs loyalty

Shaun loved taking care of dogs since his childhood. He used to take his dogs and travel around, exploring various places. He has had two dogs at his home since he was a child. However, as years passed, he lost both of them due to their old age.

Shaun never gave up on having a loyal companion with him. He knew very well about the loyalty of dogs and used to train them. He always wanted to train his dogs so that they could easily sense danger and help out people in trouble.

Once, he took his dogs, Rex and Ray, two healthy labradors with him as we wanted to go hiking. They were well-trained and loved to explore and go on adventures with him. Shaun had visited a less explored area and had help from one of his friends' brothers, Rick, who also loved adventures. Rick had found a unique and less explored location where Shaun and Rick could hike and enjoy nature.

Shaun, Rick and his dogs started walking and soon found themselves amidst deep and thick forest. As they explored, Rick slipped on a rock and fell. He had unfortunately sprained his ankle and had to urgently rest. They had run out of water.  Shaun was very helpful and told Rick that he would go in search of water along with Rex. Shaun and Rex went ahead while Ray waited with Rick.

Shaun explored the jungle but was almost lost. He had a compass and was looking for direction. As he was walking slowly through the forest, he slipped and was about to fall into a huge gorge. Rex became alert and started barking as his owner was about to fall. Shaun was hanging on to a branch. Rex started barking very loudly that Ray heard his bark for help. Ray started signaling to Rick but Rick failed to understand. Ray started barking at Rick wildly. Rick, who was never afraid of dogs, felt that something was wrong. Ray barked at Rick and walked a bit and turned back. Rick understood that Ray wanted him to follow.

He sensed danger and tried to walk slowly with his sprained ankle. However, as they walked a little further, they heard the frantic barks of Rex. Rick found out that Shaun was hanging on to a branch near the gorge to avoid himself from falling down. He opened the backpack and quickly tied a rope to the nearest tree. He then put the rope towards Shaun asking him to grab it. As Shaun was grabbing the rope, the branch broke off the tree. Shaun jumped and grabbed the rope. He had to cling on to it and climbed up. Rick was pulling the rope and finally grabbed the hands of Shaun and saved him. Both Rex and Ray started wagging their tails and showed affection to both Shaun and Rick.

This was the beginning of a strong bond between Shaun and Rick. They began to take Rex and Ray along with them every time they went out for adventures.
