What is courage? An example of courageous deed.

Bella was an orphan who was staying at a rented apartment. She was working two jobs so that she used to remain busy on most days except the weekends.

All her friends were either working or had got married and had their own busy schedules to handle. Even then, they used to plan official and unofficial meet-ups. She had a full time corporate job during the morning and worked in a burger joint as a part time employee.

Once, she was walking through the road early in the morning after her shift at the burger joint had finished to sleep for a bit. She was thinking of heading off to the office in the morning and was thinking of breakfast options for the day while walking. She suddenly heard muffled cries and sensed danger. She slowly started walking towards the noise. What she had found shocked her to the core. Four kids were being forcefully dragged out of a van by two masked people. All four kids had their mouths taped and the eldest of the child was making the muffled noise.

Bella remembered self-defense training classes she had attended during her college days. She sneakily walked towards the van and hid behind a tree. The masked men went inside the van after dragging the kids outside. Seeing it as a golden opportunity, Bella rushed towards the kids and assured them that she was there to save her and they had to run towards the road. She pointed out her red car parked at the distance and asked the kids to run towards the car, get inside and hide.

As the kids started running, the masked men returned and found Bella standing there instead of the kids. She was about to run but one of the masked men got hold of her. He had a knife in his hand and threatened to kill Bella. She remembered the moves she had learned and what followed was a 10-minute tackle. She managed to escape from the men and ran deep into the forest.

The masked men tried to follow her but failed to find her. While they went around in search of the kids, Bella managed to sneakily walk towards the car. She found all four kids sitting inside the car. She drove the car away from the area and parked it in a safer place. She managed to free the kids from the tapes on their mouths. She drove off to the police station immediately.

The police were able to track the parents of the kids. The parents thanked Bella for her courageous and successful attempt to save their kids. The local authorities realized her efforts and awarded her a token for courage and bravery she had in order to save the kids from the masked men.
