Victor was a doctor and the main inspiration he had behind becoming a doctor was to serve society. Most of his classmates were attracted to the high earning potential aspect of the same. They were not reluctant to openly admit it in front of others.

Victor graduated and was serving as an intern in the hospital as his career was beginning. As it was Christmas time, most of the doctors had gone on leave and there were lesser staff and doctors in the hospital. A woman was rushed into the emergency. The doctor's intuition to save life suddenly kicked in within Victor. The woman was clearly injured badly in a car crash as told by the good Samaritans who rushed her in. However, the woman was unconscious and seemed to be heavily pregnant.
Victor understood that this was the toughest case he was handling for the first time and hence was looking for advice from an experienced senior doctor. He reached out to Dr. Issac, the doctor who was most experienced in the hospital. As Dr. Isaac was free and as he heard of how dangerous the situation was, he said, "Victor, listen to me carefully. Your aim is to get her stable as soon as possible. If she becomes stable and as there are visible injuries on the body, you have to take an x-ray and find out if the bones have any issue. However, the most important thing here is to check if the fetus is healthy and well. You can request Dr. Sharon, the Ob Gyn, to check on the patient. I will get there as soon as possible."
As Victor ended the call, he contacted Dr. Sharon who rushed into the emergency room to check on the patient. She immediately realized that the patient was her own sister, Sheila. Dr. Sharon was teary eyed and was checking the vitals of Sheila and the baby. Thankfully, the baby was healthy but the birthing had already started as a result of the shocking accident Sheila had faced.
In order to give birth normally or surgically, it was utmost important for Sheila to become stable. Thankfully, other than the broken bones on a hand and a leg that could heal in time and no injuries to brain or other internal organs, Sheila became stable within a span of hours. Dr. Sharon decided that it was better to surgically remove the baby as Victor and the team checked for Sheila's vital signs and made sure that she was stable throughout the procedure. Everything went smoothly and a healthy baby girl was born. Sheila recovered slowly and Dr. Sharon shared how helpful Victor was to Sheila. All of them thanked Victor for his quick actions and decision making skills.
Victor walked out of the hospital after completing his shift with a look of satisfaction and happiness in his face. He felt that serving others was the most rewarding thing than money and he was happy that he was able to experience it and that Sheila and the baby was healthy.
