Why is it important to forgive others?

 Carol was in love and was sure about getting married to Shaun. After all the nuptials, they had enjoyed the reception and had flown directly to Hawaii. Carol was so happy and excited to begin the new journey of life with Shaun but what about Shaun?

Carol opened her eyes after the first rays of sun smoothly fell on her face. She happily opened her eyes thinking of the exciting wedding they had. However, she found Shaun’s side of the bed empty. She thought that he might be in the washroom and decided to take a short walk. Soft breeze blew through her hair strands as if nature was blessing her for her future. 

As she was walking, she heard a familiar voice speaking softly. She was shocked at what she had seen there! Shaun was sitting close to a girl and was chatting with her. He was speaking to her in a soft voice. The woman he was with, looked like someone who was older than him. By the looks of it, anyone could understand that she was rich from her appearance. She wore branded clothes and accessories. 

Shaun was casually looking around and was shocked to see Carol standing behind. The color of his face drained out and he felt as if he was turning white and would pass out soon. Carol ran to her room and started packing her bags. She thought Shaun would run back to her and speak but Shaun never had the guts to come back to the room.

Two weeks had passed since the incident and Carol was slowly getting over it. Her parents and brother were very supportive of her. Shaun was calling her as his name was flashing on the phone screen. She double checked the screen to make sure that it was the Shaun she knew. She reluctantly picked up the phone.

Shaun was pleading with her to come back to his life and forgive him. He promised her that he would explain everything and he was extremely sorry that he had hurt her. She decided to give him a chance to explain as she wanted to know what he would come up with. As soon as she reached Shaun’s place, he welcomed her in and started explaining everything. The girl he was speaking with was Danny, his co-worker who has had a crush on him since sometime. He was not interested in her as he knew that she was married happily and she was not his type of girl. She was undergoing the divorce proceedings and was angry when she heard that Shaun was getting married. She decided to break up his relationship and started inquiring for more details. She reached Hawaii and the same morning she called Shaun and told him that she was in Hawaii and needed to talk to him urgently. She purposefully sat close to Shaun and started gossiping about office stuff. This is when Carol saw both of them. Danny wanted to break the relationship of both Shaun and Carol. 

As soon as Carol ran away, Shaun decided to go behind her but Danny decided to play a trick on him. She purposefully jumped from the high area  to make sure that Shaun never runs after Carol. 

As Carol listened to Shaun, tears started streaming down her face. She quietly sat for some time and told Shaun that she is ready to forgive him for everything and wishes to start the relationship all over again.

The ability to forgive others is not easy. Forgiving others doesn’t mean that one person trusts the other completely again. It would actually take some time to forgive and trust someone else all over again.
