What happens when harsh reality of life hits you hard?

 Jack was living in the lap of luxury. His father was the CEO of the most popular apparel brand around the world. This gave Jack various privileges in his life. He had his own private je, a fleet of various luxury vehicles, and a bunch of personal servants to take care of him. As his father owned various properties around the world, he could stay at any of the properties he wanted to.

Mr. Newman, Jack’s father, contacted Jack one day and asked to meet him urgently. However,  Jack was not interested in the “non-sense” meeting according to him. Mr. Newman sent his personal secretary to meet Jack to tell how serious the meeting was and that it might affect their life entirely. Jack had a lack of interest but he decided to meet his father anyway. 

"Our business has had a hit with the clients internally. There are certain issues and I would like to tell you that we would soon go bankrupt. Hence, I have decided that we will be moving to a small apartment downtown.", Said Mr. Newman to his son. Jack was shocked to hear this. He was speechless. Mr. Newman continued, "I know how tough it could be to immediately move one day and entirely live a different life. Don't worry my son. This is the time where I want you to join hands with me and work hard together to regain what we might lose by tomorrow". 

"What's all this nonsense? I can never imagine living in some crummy apartment downtown. How will I live without my private jet and my luxury fleet of cars? This is impossible. Dad, you have to immediately do something to stop all of this from happening." spoke John worriedly. 

Mr. Newman said, "What I am about to tell you might give you a shock, John but the fact is that you are our adopted son and we are not related by blood…" "WHAT???" John was shocked to the core and had never expected such words from his dad. 

"Yes, what I am telling you is true. Both me and your mother spent our younger days working hard so that we could afford a lavish life. However, this took away our youth and we were unable to have our own kids. We decided to adopt a son so that we could also experience taking care of a child. However, we never realized that we spoiled you too much by providing materialistic things even when you had not asked for anything." spoke Mr. Newman. 

Jack was shocked and the harsh reality of life had just hit him. Mr. Newman, his wife and Jack moved into the apartment downtown as Jack had to adjust to his new lifestyle.

People might have different perspectives about different situations. However, when they are hit with the harsh realities of life, it might be tough to cope with the situation initially but the strong will and determination a person has would help in overcoming such issues.

Jacob grew up in a torn down house with his parents. He lost his house and parents in a flash flood that jolted the entire nation. He was just 15 years old when such a shocking incident left him devastated.  He roamed around in the nearby town in search of a job, food and shelter.
