How curiosity puts you in harm's way?

 Lisa was a person who was curious to know every minute detail about everyone around her, may it be her co-workers, friends or even family. This bad habit she had, distanced everyone from being friendly or even talking to her.

One of the most enjoyable activities for her was to engage in conversations with co-workers and in getting to know them too well, personally. Almost everyone in her organization was tired of this "enjoyable hobby" she had. So, her major targets were the new hires and temporary workers. 

They were unaware of her excess curious nature and would often fall victim to her questions. Once, she was speaking with John, a new hire to the company. 

Naturally, he was unaware of her intentions. He spoke to her and told how his girlfriend was double dating an older guy and how distressed he was. He also spoke about his father and mother who were extremely wealthy. He told her that his mother would be handing over their family heirloom, a ring to his future wife, which made Lisa's curiosity peak further.  She wanted to know why he wanted to work in a company if he was that rich. He told her that he wanted to work hard and gain experience to establish his own company in the future. 

Lisa felt this as an opportunity for her to enjoy the luxurious life if she gets together with John. She soon started following John to his place and came up with a devilish plan. She then decided to meet his parents "by coincidence". As she was digging around for news, she found out about how his parents would be visiting a particular restaurant. She purposefully dressed up and went to the same restaurant which turned out to be her "coincidence". 

She struck a conversation with his mother as his father went to meet up with his friends on a nearby table. She tried to convince his mother of what a great "match" she would be for her son. 

This shameless attitude she had made John's mother more cautious. Lisa introduced herself as the co-worker of John. 

As soon as John's parents left the restaurant, Lisa took off and walked away swiftly with a devilish smile on her face. John's parents soon realized that few of their things were missing. John's mother found out that her ring and her expensive purse went missing which had some cash. The restaurant was notified and soon they started checking the cameras. 

They found out that Lisa was the culprit. An inquiry to her made her admit of her crime but immediately she cheered up and with a wide grin on her face, she told, "Your son told me about how depressed he was due to the actions of his girlfriend. I was attracted to him and wanted to marry him. This is why I decided to steal your ring to gain your attention."

"What about my purse then? Why did you steal it?" asked John's mother furiously. "When you opened it, I saw a lot of money in it. I wanted to spend some money and was curious to know what more you had in the purse so that I could use it", spoke Lisa reluctantly. 

Lisa was arrested and charged for her crimes. Everyone thought that she got what she deserved.

The story given above is what happens when you have excess curiosity and a crooked mind. 

Curiosity kills the cat and the same happens here. Her curiosity led her to take actions that were against the law and she was eventually punished.

Jacob grew up in a torn down house with his parents. He lost his house and parents in a flash flood that jolted the entire nation.
