Why helping others too much could prove to be dangerous?

Laila had a helping mentality since childhood. She met Francine during her middle school and became friends. However, Francine saw Laila as someone to use for her benefits rather than as a good friend. Even though Laila knew it, she ignored such a feeling and continued helping Francine.

Laila's family was rich and used to give her generous pocket money. Francine was jealous about the same and used to utilise most of the money Laila had. Besides, she used to belittle Laila on every opportunity she got. However, Laila's mom was suspicious of Francine's behavior and ways. She used to tell Laila to be careful of her friend Francine.

One day Francine visited Laila. Francine scoffed, "Laila, give me some money for shopping. I would like to buy some branded clothes. God knows why I was not blessed with a rich family rather than a disgrace and ugly duckling like you!!!" Laila would just smile and hand over the money. As Francine left, Laila's mom told, "Laila, Its best that you stop being friends with that girl. I hate her attitude and she treats you as if you are her slave! How dare she!" Laila told "It's ok mum. I don't mind her being this way".

Francine decided to misuse the freedom. She met shady weed dealers and baught weeds by introducing herself as Laila. This kept on going and once she was caught red-handed by police. To confirm the identity and understand the truth, the cops visited Laila's house as Francine thought she could evade from the custody of the cops. However, Laila's dad and mom were able to figure out the entire situation. They decided to sue Francine for impersonation. This incident left Laila in shock. When Francine met Laila infront of the cops once, she begged Laila to forgive her and save her from the misery. Francine even blamed Laila for all of this and told that it was all Laila's fault and she made Francine turn out into this. However, the cops didn't heed to her words.

Laila's mom consoled her and told, "Never blindly trust anyone and help too much. Once you help the people that do not deserve the help, they would take you for granted and wouldn't value your help. They would treat you like trash just like Francine did to you which is an ungrateful act."

Laila recovered from this shock as time passed by. She met Francine once in a public park. As soon as Francine met Laila she ran towards her and immediately asked for money rather than apologising for the issue she had caused in Laila's life. Laila ignored her and walked off!

Regardless of the cost to Laila, she thought of helping others. what does the bible say about helping others? The Bible encourages us to help others by giving back to those around us who are fortunate enough to receive help from God and others in the community. However, helping too much might turn out to be harmful for everyone as it would lead to greed and various other negative emotions.

Always remember to help others who deserve the help and are thankful for the help. Doing so is a good and selfless deed.

Have a great day and stay strong! :)
